Ce Chat Est Fou!

Good evening!

I just thought I'd start off by saying that we are overwhelmed by your comments and feedback both on this blog and our Etsy shop. We feel very lucky to have such lovely people supporting us. A big thanks to all of you!

So today, after a lovely lunch at a small japanese restaurant called Pompoko, me and Alec went to the park, It was such a nice day and very warm for November (even though I did feel like an ice-cube after we took these photos!) I really hope it gets colder soon, I would love a white Christmas! We saw plenty of little creatures along the way, including a very friendly (slightly mad) cat who followed us everywhere, I have to admit I felt like snow white! Then Alec saw a perfect climbing tree, I would have joined him but my shoes are too big for me so I wisely chose to avoid a disaster!

I'm wearing a beautiful handmade 1950s dress which will be available on our Etsy shop within the next couple of weeks, I know we haven't posted new items for a while but we're working hard and cannot wait to show you our new finds!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Gone Fishin'

Good Evening Ladles & Jellyspoons!!!

The sun now sets at around 4 o'clock in the evenings here in England, making it hard to fit everything into such a short day. We do try and get photographs sorted for Dress Of The Week and Thank Frock It's Friday but sometimes it is slightly difficult. Excuses Excuses I hear you say??? You are right, hence we have now come up with a genius way of being able to fit it all in. From the window of our little flat we have fashioned a fishing rod of sorts and every Monday and Friday after University or work, we cast out and reel the sun in slightly, giving us some precious time. Sorry to you Aussies! However, this does not make it acceptable to run onto private property and hurriedly take photographs for our readers. Ooooops! We got told off by the Head Mistress for being in her School. I did manage to charm her into letting us take a few photos, while Margaux sat blushing in the archway with a very cheeky smile on her chevy chase! And I thought being told off by teachers was behind me....

Anyway, here it is! It is a lovely 1950s Caramel Dress with Full Circle Skirt. Perfect for spinning as shown in the picture above. Margaux has become slightly obsessed with doing these little Gif animations so expect a lot more on here! According to the lady, the dress is extremely comfortable and warm. I wouldn't know as it's not my colour.

While our fishing rod was doing the business, we even managed to take a little trip into the countryside. There is this lovely little view point called Ditchling Beacon on the outskirts of Brighton, certainly worth a little visit.

Margaux's Outfit is :

✩ The Trusty Sheepskin Coat, extremely warm

✩ Vintage 1960s Autumnal Coloured Paisley Print with Oversized Pointed Peter Pan Collar

✩ Vintage 1970s Dark brown Suede Boots with fur lining, also warm...

✩ Vintage Bag from an Emmaus in France

We hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Behave,

Alec

It's F F F Frrrrriday!!!

Eh up!

Firstly, we would like to apologise for missing the last 'Thank Frock It's Friday' & 'Dress Of The Week'. We were extremely busy picking out bits and bobs in France.

Margaux is wearing:

✩ Vintage French 1950s Handmade Silk Evening Dress

✩ Faux Fur Stole & Vintage Broach

✩ Belt Was A Charity Shop Find

✩ Heels were from a little French Boutique

We have since set up our first stall at Frock Me Vintage Fair, which went very well! We very much enjoyed ourselves and would like to say a big Thank You to everyone who came along. The flat has been like an obstacle course for the past week or so, it is always fun when you have to do a triple back flip over a pile of suitcases, then crawl under the ironing board and hop over shoes and bags just to get into bed...

Here was our first stall! To be honest, we were extremely nervous...
Most of these items will feature on The Splendid Suitcase's Etsy Shop so keep them peepers peeled!!!

I took this photo while in France, I think it is one of my favourite photographs. We had a wonderful time and brought back far too much stuff! Margaux's little Renault Clio was brimming full of vintage treasures. I know it is a little bit late but here is a picture of the pumpkins we carved for Halloween and an old photograph we found of me and my sister when we were nippers. Hope everyone had a great Halloween, it is definitely one of my favourite days of the year!

On our way back home after taking photos of the dress, we saw a few friends and I had a go at slacklining. I was awful, and i mean terrible...

We're off to Bournemouth in a while as Im playing a gig at The Winchester with The Peppermint Beat Band. I'll be wearing my poppy for Armistice Day and paying my respects. We hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Much Love,

Alec & Margaux
